THE PRESIDENT'S XI - MATCH REPORT - SALIX

THE PRESIDENT'S XI
CRICKET CLUB

v. SALIX
7 SEPTEMBER 1996

LOST BY THREE WICKETS

A home game at Haydons Road. Our own records for this season are lost - but a summary on the Salix website gives us the bare bones of what was evidently a high-scoring and desperately close game.

The Presidents batted first and ran up a pretty useful 185-6 off their thirty-five overs - Graham Webster the pick of the Salix bowlers with 2-26 off his allocation.

In reply, the first four Salix batsmen mustered only fourteen between them - but then the tide turned. Richard Winter at five made thirty-three before being stumped, Hewitt at six chipped in with fifteen, Chattrabutti at seven made fifty-four, and Wilkes at eight contributed forty-one. So - although we eventually dismissed all four - Keith Webster and Andy Shilling managed to edge Salix home off the fifth ball of the final over.

Our total remains one of our highest-ever losing scores.
