No-one was able to catch the total racked up by the opening pair although Mike and Jey had good go, in spite of Mike taking a blow to head when he tried to pull a rather wayward full toss from Gordon – too early in the season for attempting such shots?!! Praba reminded us of the need to get 3rd Party Insurance when he put a beautiful 6 into the car park!! Jerry played some sound strokes.

Christian took a brilliant catch off a pea-roller he had just put down to Carey – how did he get it off the ground??! Tony should have played straight to a good ball from Laurie and lost five runs. In the attempt to make up for the 5 run loss, middled one straight at Robert who very bravely saved a certain 4 but now has a rather damaged shin!!

Laurie bowled bravely with his damaged bicep (see above) but Gordon had more than his fair share of winter cobwebs although early season frailties were further in evidence when he was dropped at square leg (no names mentioned!) off Robert’s bowling!!

Ravi and Christian made spirited attack on the target with some classic strokes and some not so classic!

Brian and Robert had a good go at the target and Robert ran well in spite of his injured leg and lack of sympathy from his partner!

A good time was had by all and the afternoon confirmed the need of the President’s XI to recruit some young players!!
