THE PRESIDENT'S XI - MATCH REPORT - ABDUL AZIZ

THE PRESIDENT'S XI
CRICKET CLUB

HAYDONS ROAD - JUNE 2005

v. ABDUL AZIZ
24 JUNE 2006

LOST BY 8 WICKETS

We batted first and the openers, Danish and Andrew Swan, put down a solid foundation, but we lost four quick wickets between the ninth and twelfth overs and from then on it was a struggle. It was just one of those days when a whole lot of batsmen who can usually be relied on to make a reasonable score all got out early in their innings. At one stage a total of 75 looked out of reach, but thanks to some solid work from Raheel and Nikesh, and good support from Chris Lewis (standing in at the last moment for Richard Swan), Christian and Tony, we ended up with about 117 all out off 25 overs.

Abdul Aziz then weathered a tremendous spell from both opening bowlers, Danish and Khalid, during which they only lost one wicket. They gradually got on top of the bowling and in the end made the runs in 25 overs for the loss of only one more wicket.
